Artist Bio

Born in 2003, in Zapopan, Mexico, Elizabeth Walker grew up in Belfast and now lives and works in London. She completed her BA in Fine Art at Arts University Bournemouth and has exhibited consistently during her studies. Her recent exhibitions include “Connected Grounds’ at Boscombe Arts Depot and the Axis graduate show at Umbrella Gallery, Cardiff.

Elizabeth was recently awarded two Artist Residencies with AUB and Bournemouth Emerging Artist Fringe. She works with oil paint, ink, graphite, and digital collage. Walker's recent paintings explore the shared experience and complexity of moving between cultures. Her work is deeply rooted in family photographs, creating a personal narrative that resonates with broader themes of identity and belonging.

Elizabeth is particularly interested in the relationship between colour and light, evident in her vivid, expressive use of colour and dynamic compositions. Her paintings focus on materiality, featuring visible brushstrokes and a colour-blocking approach that adds depth and texture. Through her art, Elizabeth aims to convey the interplay of light and colour, creating pieces that evoke emotion and reflect on the experiences of her subjects.
